Alan-1’s Major League eSports Tournament at CAX Crowns New Champion

California Extreme, affectionately known as CAX, is the annual “Classic Arcade Games Show” held in Santa Clara, California. The event brings together hundreds of classic and modern arcade games, pinball machines, collectors, enthusiasts, and industry veterans for a weekend of arcade gaming with the games set to free play. The 30th annual California Extreme was held August 8–9, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara.
The MLeS Game Grid tournament took place on August 8 and was free for registered CAX attendees. The tournament featured competition across a wide selection of Alan-1-connected games, with the top three players earning cash prizes and the overall champion receiving a new Alan-1 arcade cabinet of their choice.
After the final scores were tallied, Jatin Gundara emerged as the tournament champion. For the grand prize, Gundara chose to receive a Gravitar: Recharged Pro arcade cabinet for his victory. Gundara also dominated the individual game competitions, recording the top scores in Quantum Recharged, Black Widow Recharged, Caverns of Mars: Recharged, and Breakout: Recharged.
David Brady claimed second place with 610 points and a combined score of 1,392,892, earning $250. Brady also posted the top score in Asteroids: Recharged.
Rounding out the podium was Don Phillips, who finished third with 455 points and a combined score of 1,158,263, earning $100.

The CAX tournament continues Alan-1’s effort to bring connected, competitive gaming to arcades. Through MLeS, players can create a free account, track their scores, earn League Points through tournaments, and compete against players at other locations. The platform is integrated into Alan-1 arcade games, including Atari Recharged titles and Alan-1’s original games.
Alan-1 will host the Fourth Annual MLeS World Championship in Las Vegas this March. Players who want a shot at winning cash prizes can download the free MLeS app on iOS or Android and start earning League Points by participating in weekly tournaments on MLeS-connected Alan-1 games. These include Avian Knights—now available on all major consoles—as well as Alan-1’s video arcade lineup, from the Atari Recharged titles to the Soda Slam series.
